Lockdown Heroes

Tuesday, June 16, 2020

As part of our distance learning programme, the English and Humanities departments asked the students to create a piece about their 'Lockdown Hero' - someone (or something) who had helped them get through the past few weeks.

There were lots of heartwarming responses showing appreciation for family members - parents, siblings, grandparents. A lot of our students also showed appreciation for a range of key workers. There were also some really original pieces praising different types of heroes. It was wonderful to see the variety and the heartfelt nature of the pieces. Here is a very small selection - we could have filled a book!

Rhys Blower, Year 10 - "Quarantine Hero"

Emma Briggs, Year 10 - "Thank you NHS"

Eleanor Caine, Year 13 - "Today's Heroes"

Anna Cole, Year 7 - "My Heroes"

Daisy Holloway, Year 10 - "Lockdown Hero: Captain Sir Tom Moore"

Will Lloyd, Year 10 - "Dear Boris Johnson"

Kaela Manns, Year 8 - "Captain Sir Tom Moore"

Harriet Preston, Year 7 - "Bertie"

Abbie-Louise Rowson, Year 10 - "Thank you NHS"

William Sievwright, Year 7

Ben Twigg, Year 10

 "My Quarantine Hero"

"Today's Heroes"
