Black History Month Project - History

Our Year 8 History students have been working hard on their projects for Black History month, which ran throughout the month of October.

Our Year 8 students have been working hard on their projects for Black History month, which ran throughout the month of October. Pupils were asked to be creative with their work, creating profiles, poems or activities in order to educate others about people in the past who have had impact on society today. A selection of work can be viewed below, and include poems, fact files, mind maps, top trumps cards, and some very creative design work. The History department are very impressed by the work produced, and the understanding that pupils displayed.

Black History Month is nationally recognised in the UK, and celebrates and recognises the contributions from people of African and Caribbean heritage over the generations. The work by our pupils demonstrates their understanding and recognition of such figures across History, taking the time to research their background, contribution and lifetime, as well as considering the contribution of some international figures too.
