Jubilee Afternoon Tea

Year 9 Food Tech invite grandparents to afternoon tea!

On Wednesday, the Year 9 GCSE Food Technology group invited their parents and grandparents into school to enjoy a jubilee themed afternoon tea, with food and refreshments made by themselves.
The hall was decorated in red, white and blue, tables laid with a delicious spread, a selection of music played from the 1930’s to present, a series of slides showed the historic development of our school, and our visitors enjoyed a live music performance from Becky Peters in Year 11, as well as a royal quiz hosted by Mr Smith.
Our year 9’s were fantastic hosts to their families, spending the day making food including sausage rolls, quiches, sandwiches, cupcakes, biscuits, jam and cream scones, and chocolate eclairs. They made tea and coffee for their guests, and also enjoyed some cold refreshments.
Overall, it was a really special afternoon and a fantastic way to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee - an historic milestone.
Miss Kendrick would like to say well done to Sanya, Connor, Harley, George, Emily, Freya, Eliza, Oliver, Dylan, Joshua, Leon, Sian, Kiera, Sean, Leah, Molly, Andrew, Ellie, Harry, and Esmee.
